(Note: Western culture, for the most part, elevates academic and intellectual savvy above emotional and spiritual intelligence. That is understandable. Academic and intellectual savvy are easier to calculate and to label thereby providing the feeling of understanding and control, without the more difficult task of exploring one’s own nature. Self Exploration requires courage and a willingness to acknowledge things about ourselves that we may not always find tasteful.)

We are individually and cumulatively a collection of properties not the least of which is an energetic connection to everything and everyone else which is currently being expressed as “The Individual You”. Just as the Yin and Yang are properties of the same entity, Mind, Body and Spirit are also properties of the same entity… YOU! Strict adherence to, and the glorification of the intellectual alone, is often characteristic of a person’s fear of exploring his or her own spirituality and emotional qualities. Intellectual prowess can be a convenient place to hide from one’s self without being seen as fearful. Masking fear of one’s emotional and spiritual core by isolating it within a bubble of intellectuality, may provide a temporary sense of security, but will not lead to enlightenment or peace of mind. Balance is the key.
